The TerraWave TWS-600 is a low-loss, 50-ohm coaxial cable designed for high-frequency applications up to 10.3 GHz. It features a copper-clad aluminum inner conductor with a diameter of 0.176 inches (±0.001 inches) and a physical foam polyethylene dielectric measuring 0.455 inches (±0.012 inches). The outer conductor consists of bonded aluminum foil combined with a tinned copper braid, resulting in a nominal diameter of 0.492 inches. Encasing these components is a black polyethylene jacket with a diameter of 0.590 inches (±0.008 inches), providing UV resistance for outdoor durability. Electrically, the TWS-600 offers a capacitance of 23.4 pF/ft, an impedance of 50 ohms, and an inductance of 0.058 μH/ft. It achieves a velocity of propagation of 87% and exhibits inner and outer conductor DC resistances of 0.53 ohms/1000 ft and 1.2 ohms/1000 ft, respectively. The cable provides a shielding effectiveness greater than 90 dB and can withstand a jacket spark test of 5000 VAC. Its peak power handling capability is rated at 40 kW. Mechanically, the TWS-600 has a minimum bend radius of 2.953 inches and is designed to operate within a temperature range of -40°F to +185°F. It is suitable for storage, installation, and operation within these temperature limits. The cable comes with a 5-year warranty and has an expected outdoor lifespan of 20 years. Attenuation values at various frequencies are as follows: - 30 MHz: 0.42 dB/100 ft
- 50 MHz: 0.55 dB/100 ft
- 150 MHz: 1.0 dB/100 ft
- 220 MHz: 1.2 dB/100 ft
- 450 MHz: 1.7 dB/100 ft
- 900 MHz: 2.5 dB/100 ft
- 1500 MHz: 3.3 dB/100 ft
- 1800 MHz: 3.7 dB/100 ft
- 2000 MHz: 3.9 dB/100 ft
- 2500 MHz: 4.4 dB/100 ft
- 5800 MHz: 7.3 dB/100 ft
These specifications make the TWS-600 cable suitable for applications requiring high-quality, flexible cabling, such as WLL, GPS, WLAN, WISP, WiMax, SCADA, and mobile applications. It is compatible with a wide variety of connectors and is ideal for both off-the-shelf and customized cable assemblies
